Recognizing that cults and confusion frequently target the church body, this evangelism ministry focuses on reassuring Christian converts of their eternal destiny. The primary concentration is on equipping Believers with accurate information through essential doctrines derived exclusively from The Word of GOD.

Various training sessions and workshops teach and tutor participants how to turn a 15-minute discussion into an opportunity to introduce to some—and/or clarify to others—a lifetime relationship with Jesus Christ as their LORD and Savior.

Those who are already faith-sojourners are encouraged and supplied with Biblical nourishment for their Spiritual journey.

The Bible urges us to always be prepared to answer those who ask about the reason for who and what we believe with gentleness and respect. [1Pet 3:15] Are you able? Are you ready? Are you sure?

Demetria Walker

Demetria Walker, a Bible teacher and Certified Christian Counselor, is the daughter of Rev. Edsel W. Brannon Sr., who was widely recognized by many as a great Doctrine/Dispensationalist Preacher/Pastor. Yet she recalls not accepting CHRIST as her personal Lord & Savior until in her mid 20’s. Through childhood, she was forced to attend church all-day on Sundays and reluctantly listened to decades of sermons & Bible lessons.

“There is a difference in knowing about JESUS and receiving Him,” says Walker, “I am a testimony of train up a child – and when he is old he will not depart!” Yep! A “PK” [preacher’s kid] that GOD chose to proclaim His WORD passionately despite trespassing on His ‘thou-shalt-nots’ during her formative years.

On September 8, 1999, exactly one year after Demetria was in Memorial Southwest Hospital’s Emergency Room near death, she stood for the first time before South Post Oak Baptist Church [now known as: The Fountain Of Praise] to establish their CARE Counselor’s Ministry. GOD, who is full of grace and mercy, chose the previous (9/8/1998) Labor Day Holiday Weekend to intervene in the affairs of this self-proclaimed workaholic. While the doctors and nurses on duty were astonished that she was still alive and conscious, although only having four 4 pints of blood, GOD confirmed to Walker, “…Satan has asked for your life, but you’re saved to serve [ME]!”

The Ministry’s name reflects Walker’s call, which was birthed at New Mount Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie Jones. Coupled with the guidance of The Fountain of Praise Pastor Remus Wright and Mia K. Wright. After overseeing several workshops, the CARE Ministry experienced significant growth. It was simply amazing to see (standing-room-only) congregants relish the trainings and become fearless warriors well-equipped to impart God's Word assuredly!

Ultimately, in 2014, following in the footsteps of her mentor, Rev. Kenneth Handy, Walker developed the CARE CALVARY into an outreach organization aiding & assisting other churches in launching this vital ministry. Her practical approach is known to make attendees laugh and cry simultaneously, using Biblical analogies and stories that relate to real-life situations. Her goal is to train others to share with others the assurance of being heaven-bound based solely on the finished work of Jesus Christ. As well as minister to fellow sojourners who, like she did for years, bounce in and out ... and around Spiritual despondency.

To shorten a long story, the GOD-fidence Demetria now possesses has overflowed into a Divine desire to proclaim liberty to (Christian) captives ... for freedom's sake! [Isaiah 61:1]. The pressure of life’s ups & downs turned into a passion for Demetria. It was no longer her mama and daddy’s religious sayings and beliefs. The quest to “discover” if the promises of GOD were applicable to her (personally) resulted in an elevated yearning to stop living beneath her potential.

Walker has been married 46+ years to her best friend, Homer “Truck” Walker, and has 3 children …all who have also professed Christ as their personal Savior and are assured of their salvation.
